Friends of the OAC
Friends of the Outdoor Activities Centre was founded in 1988 by Nancy Wight, a former Brownie Guider in South East Division. The aim of Friends is to raise funds and support Guiding activities at the OAC.
We meet twice a year, holding a coffee morning in Spring and a Friends Day one afternoon in September. This gives members and opportunity to visit the centre and hear what is going on.
News letters are sent out to members twice a year.
Thanks to subscriptions and the generous donations of our members, Friends of the OAC have been able to support the ongoing development of the OAC since 1988. Over the years our donations have been used to provide many items including activities equipment for archery and canoeing, kitchen equipment, trek carts, signs for the camp sites etc and more recently new picnic tables for the back of Plimsoll.
We always welcome new “Friends”. Guiders, retired Guiders, Trefoil Members and anyone else who is interested in the Outdoor Activity Centre are very welcome to come and join us.
