Whiteley Woods OAC offers an exciting range of instructor-led and self-led activities to suit all ages and abilities.

All activities are subject to availability. Please request instructor-led activities at the earliest possible opportunity (please note there is a minimum booking time of 2 hours for all instructor-led activities).











Archery (instructor-led)
With an outdoor archery range and equipment to suit a range of ages, this introduction to archery session is a great opportunity for participants to develop dexterity, control and precision. Please note that this activity is only suitable for children aged 7 and over. (see Sucker Archery for groups with younger children).
Min Booking Time: 2 hours
Crate Stack (instructor-led)
This is a climbing activity led by qualified instructors. It involves balance, teamwork, communication and a bit of courage to keep climbing as the crate stack grows higher. Please note that our outdoor climbing activities are only suitable for children aged 7 and over.

Kayaking (instructor-led)
Our qualified instructors teach basic skills and paddling techniques. Please note that this activity is only suitable for children aged 7 and over.

Tree Climb (instructor-led)
This is a climbing activity led by qualified instructors. How high up the big Beech dare you climb? Please note that our outdoor climbing activities are only suitable for children aged 7 and over.

- All activities, equipment and instructors can be incorporated as part of a stay or as evening/day activities.
- Group Leaders are responsible for supervision of young people, ensuring their welfare, obtaining parental permission, and providing adult support for all instructor-led and self-led activities, and should be in attendance throughout the sessions. This may involve physical tasks including assisting with equipment.
- It is Groups Leaders’ responsibility to read and understand all relevant risk assessments before the session.
- Please note groups doing Guide Patrol Permit Camps cannot book instructor-led activities unless an adult leader is present during the activity.
