Whiteley Woods OAC has provided adventures for countless young people over the last nine decades but we need your help to ensure future generations can enjoy it too.

Just under 2 years ago we launched a major fundraising campaign to repair our 300-year-old roof. With thanks to our visitors and friends, past and present and our amazing community we have raised £41,000. A full site survey and support from our buildings surveyor has meant that we have now raised enough for our roof repairs.

However, our work is not done just yet. We still need to raise vital funds to support our ongoing programme of repairs and maintenance allowing our site to continue to be safe and secure for our visitors, staff and equipment. Our work will also will continue our commitment to preserving our historic building which is of great historical significance to Sheffield.

Please donate now by visiting our fundraising page and help us to keep our much-loved Whiteley Woods in place for generations to come.

Our centre, which includes the grounds, stables and other buildings from the now-demolished Whiteley Wood Hall, has been owned by Girlguiding Sheffield since the 1930s. The stables and cottages are Grade II listed and needs ongoing maintenance to preserve it.

Our next programme of work includes upgrading the woodwork in our main building and installing improved ventilation equipment. We would love to upgrade one of our cottages to provide extra group accommodation and we are working hard to make sure our pond remains fit for use for waterbased activities.

By helping us to Future Proof our Centre you will be ensuring many more young people can create their own memories and have amazing experiences at Whiteley Woods.

Our centre is set on the edge of Sheffield and offers a safe, welcoming space for thousands of young people throughout the year. Young people from Girlguiding, The Scout Association, schools and community groups camp at the site or stay in one of our residential buildings every year. They take part in many activities such as kayaking, archery or team building, or try out our purpose-built adventure course. The centre inspires them to develop their skills and discover their talents with a group of friends in beautiful, natural surroundings.

Young people from all backgrounds, including those from disadvantaged areas, experience fun and adventure outdoors at Whiteley Woods – something they might not get the chance to do otherwise.
