We are recruiting!
We are recruiting a part time development worker to support our work with young people.
We have recently been awarded a grant by the Youth Investment Fund which includes the refurbishment of a derelict cottage to provide an additional residential space suitable for groups of up to 12. Work is expected to be completed by late spring 2024.
The grant will also fund an exciting new role of part time development worker until March 2025. There is the possibility of a permanent role, subject to funding.
WWOAC is a registered charity and has traditionally welcomed groups from Guiding and Scouting but in recent years many school, university and other youth groups have used the Centre.
We have a small team of paid staff and volunteers. Good team working is at the heart of our success.
The new role is to:
- Develop and extend our existing processes for feedback from young people enabling the management team make decisions for the future of the Centre based on the needs of our young visitors
- Expand our customer base by creating and executing a plan so that youth groups across our local community of Sheffield and South Yorkshire know about us and the amazing outdoor opportunities available
- Actively use the reach of social media to promote the Centre
- Occasionally provide more general support to the running of the Centre if required
