Winder’s Field

Winder’s Field is the campsite area just below the Swannery. This is the site of the old Whiteley Wood Hall which stood proud until its demolition in 1959. The saluting base, located along the edge of the field, was built as a memorial to the hall and contains the hall’s original date stone. The saluting base was built on the site of the original drive and would have overlooked the old hall. You can enjoy the history of Whiteley Woods amongst the gentle slopes and mature trees.
